Then Sike, Dino, Snap, Mex183 brother Cory aka Icey Ice we practiced allot on Jerome and Morris ave. Noel Kid Nice one day in 1981 was riding by on his BMX bike. When he saw us rocking and went. And told Chino that there was crew we were Rocking. On the floor. We had a meeting at University he was a MC down with the Third World Crew. Chino came up with a name Floor Masters. He stated that he knew one of them. And they said it was cool. I liked the name and agreed to changed our name from Commodore Crew to Floor Masters. Nelson became our first President due to the fact he is the biggest. Those days it was like that. Our crew started to grow Fast Break joined Bebop, MR Flex ,Mr Ed rolled for a while then It started to pick up speed real fast with the Chino and Bryant got down. We started to get noticed due to the fact we was the only. Crew that was officially representing the Bronx. When other borough said the Bronx wasn't dancing no more. We got all the best bboys from the Bronx and took it to Manhattan and queens and we was the only crew. From the Bronx representing. Floor Masters always defending the Bronx stating that is not about burned down building and bums and ghetto's we got something cause .We are the freshet kids battled in Manhattan crews. Queens crews and we was a force to reckoned with and at the end of the night it was. | Canadian Floor Masters are Canada’s oldest Bboy Crew celebrating 25 years of history. Bboying is the proper term for what the media has called Breakdancing. We have performed well over 100 shows and have opened for performers as James Brown, Rapper Ice T , Grandmaster Flash and The Black eyed Peas. Buddha founded the crew with Kid Quick and still actively performs with the new crew. Many of the original crew members still make guest appearances at a variety of shows, events and workshops. We are known for our dedication to the true spirit of Hip Hop and are actively involved in spreading knowledge of our culture locally and throughout the Bboy and Bgirl community. We also organize one of Canada’s largest Street dancing festivals called “Cypher North” which is in its 7th year of operation.
